These are the simulated J/V curves for two of the possible operating states. These come from two separate Schrodinger Poisson self consistent simulations. Note that both curves have zero current at zero bias. I will refer to the red curve as having quasi-bound states and the blue curve as having no quasi-bound states. The two solutions are accessible by starting from different initial potential profiles. Each solution is equally Schrodinger Poisson self consistent. The band diagram of this device is shown to the right.
