Its been a good year (winter/spring 96-97) for wild flowers so far in
and around Austin!
These are outside the Nature Center in Zilker Park:

Wildflowers that have looeked very nice in and around Austin this year:
- Indian
Blanket [AKA Firewheels, Gaillardia pulchella (Asteraceae)]
- Blanket
Flower [Gaillardia aristata (Asteraceae)] (I'm not really sure which
we have around here: Indian Blankets or Blanket Flowers)
- Wine
Cup [Callirhoe involucrata (Malvaceae)]
- the ever famous Texas
Bluebonnet [Lupinus texensis (Fabaceae)]
- Evening Primrose [the Aggies call this Showy
Primrose, Oenothera speciosa (Onagraceae), but I think the Wildflower
Center called them Pink Evening Primrose]
- Indian,
or Texas, Paintbrush [Castilleja indivisa (Scrophulariaceae)]
- Mexican
Hat [Ratibida columnaris (Asteraceae)]
- Cosmos
[Cosmos bipinnatus (Asteraceae)]
